Did you realize that just about any song you hear, a ballroom dance can be danced to it? This is true, the rhythm or beat is what you dance to and not the words, so you can dance to all songs. That is another of the reasons I love ballroom dancing. I grew up doing what I call “free style” dancing and if it was not rock and roll music, it was not fun to dance to the music.
I usually danced barefoot when I danced back then. Now I wear ballroom dance shoes when I ballroom dance. This is not just for looks, but also, it helps you dance better and not twist an ankle or hurt your leg by turning your body and your feet staying in place. These shoes have a suede sole to prevent that from happening. Be safe when you dance and wear the appropriate shoes.
