In the world of ballroom dancing, a big part of the experience offered to the audience is the flash and extravagance of the costumes. In general, the woman is the one wearing the opulent costume, while the man is dressed more austerely. But that’s doesn’t mean that he isn’t perfectly complementing the woman in an understated way.
After all, men don’t always wear a black tux with matching shoes. Rather, they often match their partners, just in a more subtle and understated way. With that in mind, if the woman is wearing a bejeweled earth tone dress with gossamer and tulle accents, it’s not uncommon to see the man wearing a dark tone tux with dark brown ballroom shoes. In this way, the two outfits work well together while still keeping the focus on the woman.
