It is great to have someone to dance with all the time. Dancing with the same person all the time gives you a sense of comfort and ease since you dance with them all the time. But if some thing happens that you loose that partnership, you have a hard time learning to dance with a lot of different partners.
Going to lots of different dances will be one of the best ways to learn to dance with different partners. Social dances and social dance classes are an ideal place. The more people you meet and dance with, the better you will be with any type dancer. Buy a couple of pair of ballroom dance shoes in different colors to make sure you have a color for any outfit. Black, silver, or gold ballroom dance shoes go with any color dress or slacks. Different styles will make your dancing easier for different type dance places you go.
